Grainy Yellow Mustard Chicken

Looking for a dish bursting with flavour the whole family will love? Look no further, our Grainy Yellow Mustard Chicken is a quick, simple and delicious dish.


  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Filligans Grainy Yellow Mustard
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley


  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken in the pan and sear on both sides until golden brown.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the Filligans Grainy Yellow Mustard, honey and butter.
  5. Spread half of the sauce into the bottom of the greased oven proof dish.
  6. Arrange the chicken breasts on top of the sauce, then drizzle the remaining sauce over the top of the chicken.
  7. Cover with foil, then bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with parsley, then serve.

Filligans Italian Tomato Chutney Spaghetti Bolognese

Quick and easy dinners are a must for back to school season! Keep things simple and make classic favourites like Spaghetti Bolognese, Shepard’s Pie and cod goujons. Here’s a handy recipe to try using our Italian Tomato Chutney:


  • 500g Spaghetti
  • 2 Cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 Red Chili Chopped
  • 3tsp Mixed Dried Herbs
  • 15ml Olive Oil
  • 1kg Lean Beef Mince
  • 5 Ripe Tomatoes, Blanched and Chopped Fine
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 2 tbsp Filligans Italian Tomato Chutney
  • Salt And Black Pepper to Season
  • 2 cups Parmesan, Grated


  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the garlic, chili and herbs
  2. Add the mince and brown.
  3. Add the tomatoes, puree and Filligans chutney.
  4. Season to taste, cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked spaghetti for 10-12 minutes
  6. Serve with grated parmesan.

Filligans’ in 2021 Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards

We are thrilled to say that we have made it to the final of the 2021 Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards.

Our Grainy Yellow Mustard, Sundried Tomato & Balsamic Mustard and Irish Wholegrain Mustard made the cut and we couldn’t be prouder!

The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce, so we’re honoured to have three of our mustards in the final. We are always looking to improve our range, particularly with new product developments that meet the demands of new tastes.

Our Sundried Tomato & Balsamic Mustard is hugely popular for crafted sandwiches as well as a marinade for meat for those barbeque days. We’re looking forward to hearing the results on October 2nd.

Hearty Green Salad with Filligans Honey and Mustard Salad Dressing

Our dressing range is ideal for adding flavour to savoury dishes. Jazz up this hearty green salad with our Filligans Honey and Mustard salad dressing.

  • 1 Head of Leafy Lettuce
  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 English Cucumber
  • ½ cup Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Carrot, grated
  • 1/2 Red Cabbage, thinly sliced
  • Filligans Honey and Mustard Salad Dressing


  1. Chop lettuce. Thinly slice the shallot and red cabbage. Peel and chop cucumber. Slice tomatoes in half and grate carrot..
  2. Mix together all the ingredients for the salad, including the dressing, and toss to combine.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Honey and Mustard Chicken

Add flavour and excitement to your weeknight feast with this delicious honey and mustard chicken dish. Made using our Filligans Wholegrain Mustard, serve it up with rice or new potatoes.


1 tbsp Olive Oil

¼  tsp Salt

¼ tsp Black Pepper

8 Chicken Thighs

4 tbsp Filligans Wholegrain Mustard

4 tbsp Honey



Preheat your oven to Fan 170C/ 190C/Gas 5.

In an oven proof dish, heat oil. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.

Place the thighs into the pan and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Mix Filligans Wholegrain Mustard with the honey.

Brush the chicken with the honey and mustard. Place in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes and the chicken is nice and golden on top.

Serve immediately with side of your choice, we recommend rice or new potatoes and vegetables.

Creamy Mustard Chicken Pasta

Irish chef Kevin Dundon is a proud supporter of SuperValu’s Food Academy Programme.  We’re delighted that Kevin created this simple Creamy Mustard Chicken Pasta Dish using Filligans Wholegrain Mustard. This simple dish is packed full of flavour and the whole family will love it!

Want to make it at home? Here’s what you’ll need:


2 tbsp. Oil

2 Chicken Fillets, diced

100g Rosscarbery White Pudding, diced

2 Red Onions, chopped

2 Cloved Garlic, chopped

1 Courgette, diced

100g Vegetable Stock

250ml Cream

2 tbsp Filligans Wholegrain Mustard

12 Nests Tagliatelle Pasta

Salt and Pepper



  1. Cook the pasta as per pack instructions. Keep warm aside.
  2. In a saucepan, drizzle some oil and add chicken and pudding. Saute for 3-4 minutes until coloured, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add onions, garlic and courgette and saute for a further 3-4 minutes until slightly coloured.
  4. Add the stock and cream and Filligans Wholegrain Mustard to taste. Stir to combine. Bring to the boil and simmer for a further 2 minutes or so until coating the back of the spoon.
  5. Finally, toss the pasta to the pan to coat with the mustard mixture. Serve and Enjoy!

Sticky Mango Chutney Chicken

Sticky Mango Chutney Chicken using Filligans Mango Chutney is as good as it gets and is the ultimate quick and easy dinner option. This recipe is full of delicious flavours and is sure to be a winner with all the family.


  • 1 tsp oil
  • ½ cup very finely minced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, very finely minced
  • 6 tbsp Filligans Mango Chutney
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne powder and
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 8 chicken thighs, bone in and skin on


  1. Preheat Oven to 200℃. 
  2. Heat the oil in a large, ovenproof pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until it is soft and starting to brown. Add the garlic and let it cook for 1 minute. Transfer the onions and garlic to a small bowl and set the pan aside.
  3. Mix the Filligans Mango Chutney, curry powder, cayenne, and sea salt into the onions and garlic. Spread half the paste under the skin of the chicken and the remainder on top of the chicken skin.
  4. Place the chicken into the pan and put the pan in your oven. Let the chicken cook for 40 minutes. Best served with cauliflower and boiled rice.

Pasta Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomato & Balsamic Mustard

Spice up dinner time this week and add some of our Sundried Tomato & Balsamic Mustard to your classic pasta and chicken dish. This new recipe is packed with Mediterranean flavours and will leave you feeling full and satisfied. Here’s what you’ll need to recreate our Filligans Pasta Chicken with Sun-Dried Tomato and Balsamic Mustard at home:


  • 4 Chicken Fillets
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 275g Rigatoni or Penne Pasta
  • 220g Sugar Snap Peas
  • 250g Asparagus, trimmed and cut into short lengths
  • Basil Leaves
  • Filligans Sun Dried Tomato and Balsamic Mustard


  1. Cut each chicken fillet into two or three pieces. Season chicken with Filligans Sun Dried Tomato and Balsamic Mustard, so that all the pieces are coated. Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the pasta in a large pan of lightly salted boiling water for 12 minutes, adding the sugar snap peas and asparagus for the last 3 minutes. Drain.
  3. To cook the chicken, place into a wok or large frying pan and fry until cooked through.
  4. Add the cooked pasta and vegetables and toss together. Serve garnished with basil leaves.
